Scrabble or Literati

Scrabble is not really a gambling game - but definitely one that involves skill. I love playing it and can play with my friends for hours. I have tried playing it on the Net - but have not done too well.

Hi Milly
Believe it or not but I have gambled on a game of scrabble! After playing for a while we got really competative at work and found that rivalry soon found us betting on a game during our lunch break. Just goes to show you can bet on anything you want.

It's funny but you sure are right about the fact that you can bet on anything imaginable. I really do enjoy gambling and love playing Scrabble. I'll have to find someone around here willing to give it a go on wagering on Scrabble.

I find this game very addictive. One can spend hours playing it. The best part is you learn more about the skills as you keep playing. I like the computer version better. There is a similar game called bookworm.

There are so many people playing Scrabble online that one can easily enter into a betting contest in it. here are Scrabble leagues offering prizes - so there is some sort of reward there.

I know there's a lot of people playing this game online but how do you suggest bringing up the idea of gambling upon a game? I'd worry that I'd get in trouble somehow.

I'd probably only suggest it if I knew the people I was playing with - either playing Scrabble with a group of friends or playing online with people I knew. Personally, I prefer Scrabble because there are too many word whizzes online who are really tough to beat!

It is great fun playing online. But some of the words are really weird. I have started noting them down in a word document and keep looking at that while playing !!
I wish I knew what half of them meant!!
But it is a lot of fun.

I would imagine that there is a programme that you can type the letters into that you have and it will give you the best possible word out of what you have.
Anyone else get annoyed when someone puts an 's' on the end of a word or 'ing' or 'ed'?

Scrable is a great game. Sorry I don't know the other game. The thing I like about scrabble is that it is quite easy to get the hang of. Other games take quite a bit of practice but scrabble is easy.

I love Scrabble!

I play it with my friends or my family. Sometimes we even have a bet, just a little amount. It makes the game more fun.

I play Yahoo literati too but I seem to lose a lot. Most of the online players are good. Damn!

Here is a trick for online Literati or Scrabble. Everytime you encounter a new word, write it in a word document. Next time you play keep this word document open and keep referring to it.
Of course note the words in an alphabetical manner.
You will be surprised how much it helps. Keep updating this document.

I used to quite like playing scrabble. I haven't played it for years though but remember that the combination of making words but aslo where to place the word was very exciting.

The other game is the online version of it. I think the word Scrabble is copyrighted - so all online game sites have some version of it and then they give it a different name.
But when you start playing league games in Scrabble or Literati - then you realise that it is a really difficult game !

Like the rest of the folks here, I would never have thought of Scrabble being a game to gamble with. However I suppose people can gamble on anything.
