Wolverhampton Wanderers Team Preview

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Well, well, well. What a wild transfer window it has been for the Wolves. Wolverhampton Wanderers may be the newcomers but there is no way at all that they’re fighting for survival. If this team doesn’t make the top 10 it will be a surprise. Wolves added a lot of Portuguese players and it’s pretty understandable when they have a Portuguese coach. They’ve added two Portugal internationals in Rui Patricio and Joao Moutinho strengthening their goalkeeping and midfield. Furthermore they added a talented Belgian international in Dendoncker, another very good midfielder. Going forward they added Adama Traore who after a very good season with Middlesbrough, finally breaking through will hope to continue his success in the top flight for Wolves. Wolves added a bunch of other good pieces to their squad to give more squad depth but we’ll post these below. Wolverhampton are have seriously built a very good BPL squad, they already were too good for the Championship last season and probably would’ve been good enough for the Prem with last year’s squad, but now that they’ve added players such as Moutinho, Traore, Patricio, Dendoncker they for sure should be a lock to be nowhere near relegation. It may take a little time to put it all together with the new players coming in but with a Portuguese manager this shouldn’t take time. Half of Wolves squad if pretty much Portuguese, all very decent players including Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota who had a great season in the Championship and are expected to make a name for themselves in the Prem. Expect Wolves to play attacking football, could see them dominate possession often. They may concede goals at the back but it shouldn’t be a leaky defence. We think that Wolves will be getting a top 10 finish this year and could totally fight for top 7 and UEL spots. We’ll put the target as mid table finish because they’re a promoted side, but don’t be surprised if they finish higher.
