I think Gigante is having a tough day today. He is still a rising player, but he has already played 5 matches in France, including a difficult one against Tsitsipas, which the Greek player gave away with his silly mistakes. Shelton played against Sonego, but then faced Gaston. It is almost impossible for a lower ranking player to have a better chance of reaching the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam. I believe that Gigante will feel tired in Peru. It is very common in tennis for a lower ranked player to defeat a higher ranked one in one match, but then lose in the next. Gigante himself also makes quite a few mistakes. Shelton's performance has not been shining in the past few months, but it is time for him to bounce back, get his act together, and prepare to give Alcaraz a challenge.
