Interviewed by Repubblica (Italian Newspaper), the NextGen ATP Finals Tournament Director Sergio Palmieri spoke about all the new rules that will be introduced in the Under 21 event in Milan from 7 to 11 November 2017.
Palmieri confirmed that there will be a best of five sets format, sets at the best of four games with an eventual tie-break on 3-all, only the first serve on 4-all, no let rule. But there is more: 'We want to add other new things to have more show', Palmieri said.

'For example, an innovative light show. And also allowing spectators of lateral sides to enter and leave the stadium not only during change overs. Also, matches without linesmen should be played, but it doesn't depend by us.

It will be experimented in Cincinnati. Over the whole court there will be an electronical system that will pick out the bounce of the ball. If it will work, we will introduce it in the Under 21 event as well.' It seems very strange that Cincinnati tournament did not reveal that there won't be any linesman on court this year.

Probably they will do it soon, as Palmieri knows how it works on the ATP Tour as he attends every meeting between events as he is Rome director. About the field, the Rome tournament director added: 'Zverev keeps saying that he will play even if he will play the ATP Finals in London, we hope it will be likes this because people, especially younger players, like Zverev a lot.
But I think if he makes it to London, probably he won't come to Milan. All the younger players are improving and evolving, probably Coric is the most consistent one. But I would be interested at seeing other two talented players: the 19-year-old Shapovalov and especially Aliassime, 16 aged
