Bodog Poker Player Traffic

The online poker industry has experienced 11 consecutive weeks of decreasing cash game player traffic. When we compare ring game action on July 1 to that of 26 weeks ago on January 1, we see that all but one of the top ten poker rooms and networks are well off the pace of the player averages reported by PokerScout six months ago.

The only top ten poker room to actually gain players in six months was Bodog/Bovada. The poker room that features anonymity under its Recreational Player Model saw action on the ring game tables rise 21.4% from 1,400 to 1,700. Bodog moved up four slots worldwide from 7th to 3rd.

How did Bodog buck the trend and gain while the rest of the top ten sites lost players? Perhaps because no states have regulated and launched online poker regimes since 2013 and players in the U.S. in non-regulated states still need to play somewhere.
