Who plays chess out there?

I find chess to be one of the most challenging games I have ever played.

It is quite a thrill to test yourself against other players, whether a computer or a person.

Chess is one of the few skill games where you lose little by playing online - its all about strategy and thinking ahead.

Chess is a very simple game yet so complicated, impressive game.
Im not good at chess but remember playing with my family when I was a kid. I stay away from online money chess games, im too much a newbie.

I have never played Chess for money, its more for the challenge than anything else.

I find it makes you think more and focuses the mind - something which you can use in normal life.

Not as easy as people would sometimes have you believe.

Never played chess for money but agree that it is a very challenging game to play. Some people say that if you can grasp chess you can grasp any game.
I love the game for making me think way ahead in terms of moves. Very satisfying indeed.

It is totally a mind game. There is so much strategy involved-very truly said simple yet complicated. I wasn't aware you could play it for money too. Though I love the game I wouldn't play to unwind myself, it builds up a kind of tension.

Does anyone know of any good websites for chess strategies? I know the basic moves of chess, but don't know any good strategies which makes it almost impossible for me to win if I ever play anyone who actually knows how to play.

I can believe it's very exciting to play against others online for money. But i don't dare my bankroll with chess for money. Poker is more ok.

Hi ljk19
I always thought it was just hours of practice that made the brilliant chess players so good. I didn't know there were set strategies involved in the game just experience?

I can play but I always got confused as to what check mate meant? Someone gave me there interpretation when I was a teenager which confused although looking back it was just an attempt by him to not loose and force a draw. Took me years to figure he was fooling me but I still love the game

The times I have played chess it really depended upon how good my opponent was as to whether I enjoyed it or not. With the wrong opponent it was rubbish to get them in check mate quickly. Much better to play against an opponent who was a match to your experience.

I play Chess but must admit that I enjoy checkers better. I have always had a soft spot for checkers as chess always gets the attention!

I used to play a lot. I have gotten rusty at it, and don't really have a decent board right now. One of these days I want to get one, and start playing again.

If your opponent is unskilled it's no fun.

Unless you like winning for the sake of winning.

I love playing chess. As it is my most favorite board game that there is out there.
So,chess,i love to play.I have played chess for many years with my father, and than an old friend of my mother's.Sadly,my old friend passed away several years ago from lung cancer, and my father doesn't come around here much,so i have to play chess online or not play it at all. But,here recently i found a chess handheld game at wal-mart for only a dollar. So,naturally,me being a big chess lover,i bought it.Sad thing about it though is that it doesn't have the light on it like the solitare games do.So,i can only play it in the daytime. That is,if i'm not on the computer.
Thanks for asking.I love chess alot.
