McGregor KO… Betsafe wins BT Sport Industry PR Award

Betsson AB’s European online betting subsidiary Betsafe has won the ‘BT Sport Industry Award’ for ‘Best use of PR’ for it’s 2017 ‘Notorious – Conor McGregor’ global marketing campaign.

The online bookmaker was recognised for executing the most effective and viral marketing campaign, utilising multiple media verticals, content and press coverage to promote its Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor mega-fight promotions and betting markets.

At a star-studded gala hosted in London last week, Betsafe marketing was awarded a prestigious ‘BT Sport Industry Award’, beating the likes of HTC, UK Racing, EA Sports FIFA and Lucozade for ‘best use of PR’ in marketing.

In 2017, Betsafe announced Irish MMA star ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor as its new global sports ambassador.

Securing McGregor as its new brand ambassador, Betsafe marketing gained one of the most actively followed and popular athletes in world sports.

Speaking to SBC, the bookmaker would detail its association with McGregor as a ‘game-changer’ for Betsafe’s global brand and marketing.

Veltyco renews Betsafe Deutschland management contract

London AIM-listed industry marketing services provider Veltyco has confirmed that it will continue to act as lead operating firm of Betsson’s ‘Betsafe Deutschland’ property until May 2021.

Veltyco renews one of its biggest management contracts, continuing to operate the Betsafe brand within Germany, on ‘broadly similar terms as its previous agreement’.

The strategic arrangement will continue to see Veltyco act as exclusive marketing services partner of Betsafe Deutschland, a position it has filled since 2012.

Historically, Veltyco has increased the visibility and brand-recognition of Betsafe Deutschland, through premium marketing partnerships with top German Bundesliga clubs alongside further media and marketing initiatives.

Commenting on the contract renewal, Gilles Ohana Chairman of Veltyco, said:

“Since inception, Betsafe has formed a core part of the Group’s operations. The partnership jointly leverages both companies’ respective strengths including Betsson’s and Betsafe’s clear operational excellence and Veltyco’s core expertise in Germany.
