In the dealers seat. That way you go home with you pay cheque and hopefully some tips and wont have lost any money in casino I always prefer to be the last player as it does give you a slight increase in probability as you can see what cards have gone before. To use an extreme example if the first players kept getting aces and split them you know by the time it reaches you that the dealer is a lot less likely to have an ace.In practise not much in it.

That "slight increase in probability" doesn''t exist, unless only one hand is dealt before the shuffle. Watching cards only one round a time gives you no advantage.

Sorry, maybe I'm not following you?

I'm sure that once any card is dealt, the mathematical probability of the same kind of card being dealt again is reduced, because there are now fewer of those cards in the deck. The number remaining depends on how many decks are used.

Whether or not this is useful or not is another story.

Isn't that the basics of counting cards?
