Another exciting event and opportunities await for the betting community as Eurovision Song Contest 2022 comes near this May 2022. After bagging second place with its debut entry in 1994, Poland has been participating in the contest twenty-three times. In this year’s Eurovision competition, the country was about to finalize the procedure in choosing the nation’s entry for the contest on February 19. TVP already organized the national finals event, namely “Tu bije serce Europy! Wybieramy hity na Eurowizję” (“The heart of Europe beats here! We choose hits for Eurovision”).

There are ten entries to compete in the event, including Ania Byrcyn, Karolina Lizer, Krystian Ochman, and Daria. The winner from the event will be decided through a combination of votes from the jury and the public.  With a winning chance of 9%, Poland has the lowest odds of 10.00 and highest odds of 18.00 from different bookmakers.

Australia

Australia’s experience in the Eurovision Song Contest was not quite long. The country debuted in 2015 and only attended the competition six times, but out of the six competitions, the country managed to reach the top 10 four times. Organized by SBS, the country will hold its final competition on February 26 at the Convention and Exhibition Centre in Gold Coast. Eleven entries will compete in selecting the Australian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. 

Ten participants that are determined by SBS through consultation with songwriters include Andrew Lambrou, G-Nat! on, Isaiah Firebrace, and Jaguar Jonze. However, the final artist to complete the eleven entries will be selected through a Tiktok contest called the “wildcard artist”. Australia has made a lot of preparations for this event. With a winning chance of 7%, Australia has the highest odds of 12.00 and lowest odds of 10.50 from Betfair and Smarkets, respectively.

Italy

Following the winning success of the previous Eurovision 2021, Italy will now host the Eurovision 2022 to be held in Turin, Italy. The country has a very long history of the Eurovision Song Contest since it made its first entry in 1956. Within its forty-six entries in the competition, the country has successfully achieved the winning position three times in 1964, 1990, and 2021. Since 2011, Italy has regularly selected its participants through the Sanremo Music Festival. 

In this year 2022, Italy will still choose its representative for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2022 from the winner of the Sanremo Music Festival 2022 to be held on February 1 and 5. The music festival will be participated by 25 artists including Gianni Morandi, Massimo Ranieri, Fabrizio Moro, and Emma. In case the winner declines the offer to participate in Eurovision 2022, the organizers of the event have to choose other participants through their own criteria. Italy got a high winning chance of 6%, in which bookmakers place the highest odds of 14.00 and lowest odds of 13.00.

Sweden

From 1958 until this year, Sweden has participated sixty times in the Eurovision Song Contest. With the country’s long history of participating in the event, they had won the song contest on six episodes in 1974, 1984,1991,1999, 2012, and 2015. In this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, Sweden will select its representative from the winner in the Melodifestivalen 2022, which will be organized by Sweden Broadcaster, Sveriges Television (SVT).

The music festival is composed of five semi-finals to commence on February 5 and finals that will take place on March 12. SVT announces that there are over 2,500 applications being received. However, there are only seven competing entries that were recognized in every semi-final. Participants that will be joining the competition include Alvaro Estrella, Shirley Clamp, Robin Bengtsson, and Lisa Miskovsky. Based on the predictions made by the bookmakers, Sweden will have a 6% winning chance in the competition. Hence, bookmakers place the highest odds of 14.50 and lowest odds of 13.00 for Sweden.
