Seria A: Juventus v Roma Match Betting Preview

Juventus will seek to continue their near perfect Serie A start as they host a disappointing Roma side at home this Saturday evening. After 16 fixtures, Juventus are already an unbelievable 22 points above their weekends opponents and could extend that to 25 points with a win! YES TWENTY FIVE. Juventus have won 15 of their 16 league games drawing the other and with the way they’re playing it doesn’t look like anybody are going to stop them anytime soon. Roma meanwhile are currently 7th and just went through a stretch without a win for over a month which they snapped on Sunday defeating Genoa 3-2 coming back from a deficit twice which could be a huge confidence boost. However, despite that win, there are clearly a lot of cracks in Roma’s team right now especially defensively as they’ve not lived up to last season’s elite defensive form and it’s very unlikely that they’ll be able to get anything out of this game unless something DRASTICALLY changes.

Team News

Juventus: Barzagli, Cuadrado and Cancelo are all ruled out with an injury, however the first two were unlikely to start anyway whereas Alex Sandro has returned last week and will occupy Cancelo’s spot at LB for now. Rodrigo Bentancur has returned after missing the Turin derby with a suspension last week and is expected to come in for Emre Can in the midfield. Otherwise, there’s nothing else to report and expected no other changes from Allegri to his line up from last week.

AS Roma: Over the past few weeks, Roma have been dealing with a crazy number of injuries to their key players. However, this weekend some of them could return. Star striker Edin Dzeko and midfielder Daniele De Rossi are both expected to at least make the bench after missing time. However, top scorer El Shaarawy and Lorenzo Pellegrini are still both doubtful as they’ll have to pass late fitness tests meanwhile Alessandro Florenzi is officially ruled out for Roma.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Clearly here Juventus are the massive favourite to win and understandably so. With Roma struggling with injuries and form and Juventus rolling the way they are this season it’d be pretty surprising if Juve didn’t come away with a comfortable win. Under 2.5 goals at 1.98 is our first pick. When Juve play at home, Roma ;au away both tend to have very under-ish games because Juventus defending is absolutely elite and they are not one of those teams who will put 5-6 goals past you, they tend to settle for professional 1-0/2-0 wins for the most part. Roma themselves tend to play more of a safe game when they play away from home hence why their goal scoring and conceding ratio is far lower away from home, in fact their away games have seen twice as less goals than their home games which is crazy. We expect Roma to play safely in this game and that’s why it should be a low scoring one. It’s doubtful that Juve concede here as their backline is in incredible form right now keeping 5 straight clean sheets and with Roma not being at 100% we’re pretty confident about a Juventus clean sheet (Roma under 0.5 goals priced at 1.97). Mario Mandzukic to score at 3.00 is our top big odds pick as he tends to score at home far more often, in fact he has most Juventus league goals at home. Our Prediction for this game is a solid 2-0 win for Juventus.
