The Champions League qualifying stage is starting to hit its stride and here’s some of the biggest underdogs that would be pulling off a massive shock if they were to advance from the 2nd round!
This years Champions League qualifying campaign has already provided us with some fantastic underdog stories with them advancing through such as Saburtalo Tbilisi, Kalju and Sutjeska who defied the odds in the 1st round to get here. We’ve seen Saburtalo Tbilisi defeat Sheriff 4-3 on aggregate despite being tipped at around the odds of 5.00 to advance and beating them away with odds of 11.00 by a 0-3 scoreline! We’ve seen Kalju defeat Shkendija on away goals despite being tipped to advance at 21.00 before the 2nd leg tie which they won and we’ve seen Sutjeska defeat Slovan Bratislava which is easily the biggest upset as they were tipped at 10.00 to advance before the tie even started!
With these 3 teams being the biggest surprises so far we’ve looked into the odds on them to advance and well they’re once again big underdogs in their ties. Kalju are on average 18.75 to qualify and at highest 21.00 to knock out Celtic which could ultimately turn out to be one of the biggest underdog wins in Champions League history if they were to pull this one off and truly an embarrassing one for the Scottish giants Celtic. We’ve already seen a Scottish club get bounced against all the odds in Kilmarnock in the Europa League when they were tipped to get eliminated at 26.00 so you just never know. Saburtalo Tbilisi are even bigger underdogs in their tie facing Dinamo Zagreb offered on average at 22.50 and the highest at 29.00 to meanwhile Sutjeska are the smallest underdog out of the 3 but still are a huge underdog in their tie against APOEL offered on average 11.17 and highest at 13.00 to qualify in that tie. Whether any of these teams will qualify it’s quite unlikely, however there’s a reason they’re the “UNDERDOGS” and having already defied big odds, why not try and back one of these teams if not all of them by placing small amount bets on either to pull off a shocker again?
These teams of course aren’t the only big underdogs, the likes of Valletta, TNS and HJK are also all big underdogs in their ties being offered at high odds. There are 4 ties where the underdog team is offered at over the odds of 10.00 to advance them being TNS, Sutjeska, Kalju and S.Tbilisi while also Valletta and HJK are offered at around 6.00-8.00 to advance so if you’re looking to back a big underdog these teams are the main underdogs during this round and who knows given how this competition has gone so far, you cannot help but expect some more shockers!
