Euroleague: Žalgiris - Panathinaikos Betting tips

This evening we have a game between two teams outside of the Playoffs trying to make a final push for the top 8 spot as Zalgiris host Panathinaikos.

Totals

Zalgiris have been a pretty good total over covering team at Home this season as they’ve covered 60% of their Overs on their ground this season (6-4), however they did fail to cover each of the previous 3 total overs. Zalgiris haven’t had a total anywhere close to tonight’s 151.5, in fact the closest pre-game total that they’ve had this season to tonight’s was a 4 point difference where the total was 155.5 against Olympiakos which was an over in Zalgiris 83-75 win.

Panathinaikos have been the best total Under covering team on the Road this season. In 8 Road Games, Panathinaikos have had 6 unders and just 2 overs with 75% of their road games being an under, Panathinaikos are very under-ish. The closest that the Greek side have been to tonight’s 151.5 total was 153.5 twice against Buducnost (67-72) and Khimki (76-68) with both games being an Under.

Handicaps

Zalgiris have been the 3rd worst Home team at covering Handicaps at 40% in the Euroleague this season (4-6). Now they have covered 4 of their last 5 after failing to cover each of the first 5. The closest that Zalgiris have been to being 2.5 favourites at Home this season was when they were tipped as 2 points favourites against Baskonia where they lost 79-87. They also were 3.5 favourites against Barcelona and Efes which they both failed to cover losing both games 85-88 and 58-79.

Panathinaikos are flat out the WORST Handicap covering team in the Euroleague on the Road. They are literally at 0% (0-8) when it comes to covering Handicaps on the Road and are the only team to not have covered it once! Their road record is 1-7 and even when they won they didn’t cover their Handicap. Panathinaikos are clearly a shockingly bad road team this season.

Recent H2H in Kaunas

Zalgiris have been able to get the best of Panathinaikos at Home in recent meetings winning 3 of last 4 and previous 2 straight

The most recent meeting in Kaunas was last season where Zalgiris defeated Panathinaikos 80-74, covered a +1 handicap and the total 154 points ended up being a Void.

During the previous meeting in Kaunas, the betting lines had the point total as high as 154.5 and as low as 137.5 in LIVE action.

Also during the final meeting, the Handicap was as high as -14.5 for Zalgiris which was late in the Game LIVE and -7.5 for Panathinaikos early in the game as they got off to a hot start.

Injury News

Zalgiris Kaunas: Leo Westermann and Arturas Kavaliauskas are both out for Zalgiris. Without them in the past few games they’ve struggled massively.

Panathinaikos: Antetokounmpo and Langford continue to be out for the Greeks who they’ve adjusted playing without. Meanwhile starting PG Nick Calathes is questionable to play and if he’s out that’d be a huge blow for Panathinaikos, we’ll have to wait and see for the News later whether he can play.

Match Start – 18th January 2019 – 6pm UK Time
