Euroleague: Olympiakos vs CSKA Moscow Betting Tips

Two historic Euroleague rivals face off in Greece as 7th seeded Olympiakos who are seeking to secure the playoffs host the 2nd seeded CSKA Moscow!

Totals

Olympiakos are the 3rd best team in the Euroleague at covering total point overs at home this season at 63.6% (7-4), however they’ve only covered 1 of their last 4 overs at home after a 6-1 start. Total for this game is 160.5 points and Olympiakos have had that exact same total at home twice before against Maccabi which resulted with an over in a 88-80 win and against Baskonia which also ended with an over in a 91-87 win. Olympiakos also had a 160.0 point total against Milano which also resulted with an over in a 75-99 loss.

CSKA themselves are also pretty good at covering total point overs on the road at 58.3% (7-5) which is tied 5th best in the Euroleague, however just like Olympiakos after a hot start at covering overs, CSKA have fallen off at it on the road and after covering their first 6 total overs, CSKA are just 1-5 at it since so they’ve become more of an under-ish team on the road. CSKA have not had a 160.5 total but the closest to it was 161.0 against Buducnost with ended with an over in a surprising 93-92 loss.

Handicaps

Olympiakos are tied 9th best at covering Handicaps at home at a decent percentage 54.5% (6-5) and after starting 0-3 at covering home Handicaps they’ve covered 6 of last 8 thus making them a hot team in their building as of late. Olympiakos are 3.5 point underdogs this evening and this is only the first time they’ve been labelled as home underdogs all season. The closest that they’ve been to being home underdogs was against Real Madrid where they were tipped 2.5 point favourites which they covered in an 88-83 win.

CSKA are also tied 9th best on the road at covering Handicaps but at a lower percentage at 41.7% (5-7). CSKA have not been 3.5 road favourites before but the closest that they’ve been to that was 5.5 point favourites against Milano which they failed to cover by .5 points in a 85-90 win and against Zalgiris which they also failed to cover by a .5 points in a 79-84 win. Another close Handicap to -3.5 that they’ve had when they were 1.5 point favourites against Barcelona which they covered in a 76-84 win.

Recent H2H in Piraeus

It’s been split lately with both teams sharing 2 wins each in the past 4 meetings in Greece.

The most recent meeting was last season in December 2017 and Olympiakos came away with a 88-86 win against CSKA. Olympiakos were also underdogs in that game as they were given a +4.5 Handicap which they covered while total 155.5 points resulted with an over in that match up.

Injury News

Olympiakos: Janis Strelnieks is out for a few weeks while Dimitrios Agravanis is questionable to play. Veteran Vassillis Spanoulis has missed the last game but has made good strides in his recovery and there is a chance that he may play against CSKA.

CSKA Moscow: Andrei Lopatin, Mikhail Kulagin, Alexader Khormenko are all out although CSKA shouldn’t miss any of them badly as they’ve not key players meanwhile Nando De Colo and Cory Higgins are listed as probable and are expected to suit up and play.
