The 2010 World Cup has seen its share of upsets, but that does not mean the teams that were beaten did not survive. In fact, one of the teams that took an early loss, Spain, is the biggest betting favorite heading into the quarter-finals this weekend.

This week’s World Cup props allow sports betting fans a chance to pick the last team to score in the Uruguay vs. Netherlands match. No goal has the longest odds at +600, and it’s probably even more unlikely than that—don’t bother.

Will the Netherlands suffer through a brutal first half like they did against Brazil, meaning they need a comeback and thus score last (-175)? Likely not, as the Brazil game should motivate this team to play a full 90 minutes. It’s much more likely Holland will open things up early with a couple of goals, and then sit back as Uruguay tries to mount a rally. That increases the chances Uruguay notches a late marker. Uruguay’s odds of scoring last are +220.

Of course, that’s if they score at all. If the Netherlands open the game with a lead, there’s a good chance Uruguay doesn’t find the net even once.

The 2010 World Cup final betting odds have been out since mid-week, and Spain is considered the gambling favorite. The Netherlands, however, have odds that could be enticing to bettors that have watched the Dutch play throughout the tournament.
