omaha hi/lo split

Your in three way action in a tourney. Final Table. The river is unkind but you have the low nuts. You have 20k in the pot which is at 70k now. 60k left in your stack. Your last to act and it has been raised half your stack and called by the other player. Do you call here?

Call? yes,

if the board is something like
A 3 6 7 8
& you are holding pocket 2s or 4s
I may even raise

you may lose chips
by only taking in a quarter of the pot

& 1/4 of the 130k pot is 32.5k
which is more than your call

but it is unlikely for a 3-way lo split
& only getting 1/6th back

I take it "unkind" here means you're dead to the hi half of the pot. . .

If I'm doing the math right here, if you call 1/2 your stack and don't get quartered, you'll end up with 80K or +30K for the hand. If you call and do get quartered, you'll end up with 40K or -10K for the hand [13.3K or -36.7K for a 3 way split of the low].

If you can guesstimate the odds of each case you can figure out if calling is +EV or -EV in the long run. . .

Or, maybe I have NFI how to do poker math. . . :crying

If the pot is 70 and you're going to put in 30 last to act, won't there be 100 in there?
So you'll get 50, 25 or 17

Pot is 70K and two have already added 30K each. TS calling would add another 30K = 160K. . .

Thanks for the input guys, You have to call here I say. Your only going to lose money if its a three way chop on low and thats very unlikely. You are virtually guarenteed 10k for the call. If your lucky there is no low chop and win low outright.
