Us players, what shall we do?

Well not having a big success in poker and decided to go looking for some free poker money for a site I do not have downloaded. Did a quick Google and found loads of sites that I did not have an account on. Well the first one I found looked good then I read further and found this: Please be aware that due to the current legal situation in the USA, we do not accept players currently residing in the USA. This means that we unfortunately cannot allow you to have an account at PokerStrategy.com and ask you to refrain from using our bonus codes.

Well that sucks, cause I love to play poker, but wanted a change. It is going to be very hard to make new real money accounts on new sites. Some one tell me what will we do US players, what will we do? X

Get down on our knees and pray that the poker gods throws us a bone. Hopefully something will break soon in congress. We are all struggling, it sucks? Do you have any friends in Canada?

I'm a little confused here. As far as I know, unless something has changed very recently, FullTiltPoker, PokerStars, Bodog, the Cake network skins [or vast majority], Merge network skins [ditto], Everleaf Gaming network [ditto -- but supposedly only allowed one account on the entire network] and probably some others all accept US players for real money accounts. [Yes, there are some rooms and networks that won't.] So, presumably, finding a new room to play at is not the issue. . .

I understand that there are some websites that will "stake" you to a bankroll, quite likely with some restrictions on the money you're given, so maybe that's what you're actually looking for? Is that what the mentioned website does? If that's the route you want to go, make sure all terms & conditions are digested and considered. You don't want to find out you after signing the deal that you cannot play certain games or certain stakes. . .

And, when worse comes to worse, there are always the poker rooms own freerolls to help players start [re]building a bankroll -- against very long odds, but it can be done. And there are always private games provided by forum and websites -- some completely open, some requiring active contribution to their community -- that will be much easier to make money in than the poker rooms' own freerolls. . .

But, I'm fairly certain you know all this already, so if I was mistaken in interpretting your original post, please clarify and maybe I can provide better information in return. . .

Its pretty obvious that its not were gonna do, its just when it will happen.Hopefully things will fall into place to where we usa have more rooms to choose from.,like there isnt alot now.I just wish I had known about the great offers there are now compared to when i 1st started ,at which most im not eligible. If you see a new site wait for the offers to broaden before getting all excited and down load. Also if your not having a big success maybe it wouldnt hurt to find what the problem is and work on that before burning up any free bankroll you may aquire. Just a thought. To me success as a novice player is getting better with as little of my own money as possible.Maybe pray too......

Call the politicians. Join groups such as the PPA. I actually wrote a paper for school and I was amazed at the amount of people that had no clue at the skill it actually takes not to lose everything on the felt. But, we must change the people's opinion that poker is a sleezy game played by shady characters in order to change the law. Poker is a game of skill, and as such, should not be regulated the same as a game of chance.
