Europeans seem convinced that the online gambling laws are on the verge of changing with the US, and they have been gearing up for the legalization of online gambling within the US. UC Group, a UK-based payment processing company, has created a US subsidiary that is preparing to process online gambling transactions in the US, once the new legislation has been passed.
SecureTrading is the US subsidiary of the UC Group that will process US gambling transaction. They do not see any problems or delays with processing gambling transactions once the UIGEA is overturned. “Momentum for regulated Internet gambling in the US has been building for some time,” said Chris Thom, former Chief Operating Officer at MasterCard, “As Congress prepares to take the final step, SecureTrading’s turnkey system is primed to enable our customers to go live the moment Internet gambling is regulated.”

All signs from are indicating that it's not a matter if, but more like a matter when online poker will be legalized. Each piece adds to the puzzle and the picture is taking shape.
I never here anyone voicing concerns of what, if any special tax regulations may be tacked on the possible bills.
What do other countries do as far as taxing and regulating online poker?
I would hope everything will be regulated in a way to benefit both the online players and the government equally.
The picture is forming and 2010 is the year.
Click on it LOL!

Welcome:
Sheen's rep says he will be taking "some time off" from shooting Two and a Half Men and that the show will not be shot this week. The show's staff is being told Charlie's treatment is a partnership with his wife's treatment.
Sheen's wife was recently hospitalized for pneumonia and changed rehabs over a breach of security when a worker at The Canyon had tried to sell Muller's personal medical documents to the tabloids.
Mueller's attorney Yale Galanter told TMZ that Brooke is continuing her rehabilitation "in a private, more secure, confidential environment" and that "Brooke no longer feels she can go into a public facility because of the breach of confidentiality The Canyon committed."
There is no word on how long Sheen and Mueller plan to stay in rehab.

Actor Charlie Sheen has taken the last two days off work from Two and a Half Men and has reportedly checked into rehab – though it's a different rehab than the one his wife Brooke Mueller currently resides in. Mueller's rehab facility allows children so Brooke is able to take care of her children alongside her nannies.

Senate Bill 3018, the Bipartisan Tax Fairness and Simplification Act, has been amended to include the language of a bill by Rep. Barney Frank, D- Mass., HR 2267, which would legalize Internet gambling. It also includes the language of a bill by Rep. Robert Menendez's, D-N.J., HR 2268, which would create a new tax structure for legalized Internet gambling.
Frank already has been successful in delaying the implementation of UIGEA. It was supposed to go into effect Dec. 31, 2009. It's been delayed until June. Family advocates explain that Frank called for the delay in order to have time to overturn UIGEA.
Rep. Spencer Bachus, R-Ala., said families will pay a steep price if Internet gambling is legalized in the U.S.
"The biggest cost is the human misery, and the human cost inflicted on young people, who sometimes become addicted to gambling for their whole life," he said. "We're trying to get the Treasury Department to enforce the ban that we passed overwhelmingly a few years ago."

The online gambling issue is a debate that is taking place at a federal level, but individual states may beat the federal government to law changes. Iowa Representative Doug Struyk is among a group that is working on gathering facts on the issue. If approved, Internet gambling in Iowa could bring the state an estimated $11.5 million a year in tax revenue. With the economy limiting the state budget, that is $11.5 million that some legislators believe could be put to good use.
Several states are considering similar proposals that would legalize online gambling. California, Florida, and New Jersey all have lawmakers pushing for some form of legalized Internet betting.

It seems more and more that the USA is standing alone in it's sill refusal to allow what others want. They are missing the boat on both the possible revenue legalizing online poker would bring into the economy.
