UEFA Nations League: Netherlands vs France Betting Tips

This Friday night we’ve got a huge Group A game in the Nations League. France can clinch a spot in the next round with a win or a draw while the Dutch have a shot to clinch safety with a win and would even put everything into their own hands in terms of 1st place with a win here. The first fixture was quite evenly matched but France did eventually come away with a 2-1 however the Dutch are now the hosts and we’ve already seen how strong they are here when they beat Germany 3-0. It will be a stern test for the world champions but they’ve got to be confident about getting a result here against the high Flying Dutchmen.

Team News

Netherlands: Ronald Koeman pretty much has a full strength lineup and will likely start the same players as he did against Germany last month in the 3-0 thumping. Davy Propper is the only more known that player that isn’t with the team but he probably wouldn’t have started anyway.

France: France will be limited at the back as their defenders have been hit with an injury bug especially at LB with Lucas and Mendy both injured, starting CB Umtiti is also out so Deschamps will have to do some shuffling around. Furthermore, Pogba and Tolisso have also withdrawn with injuries weakening their midfield and so is in form Martial who couldn’t get picked due to his injury. Expect Nzonzi or Sissoko to fill in for Pogba while Everton’s Digne should come in for Lucas/Mendy. Kimpembe and Rami are key candidates to play over the injured Umtiti.

Betting Tips and Predictions

In this game we’d be willing to back the Dutch due to the injury bug that the French have been hit with missing some very key players. Netherlands are showing great form and it’d be hard to expect them to bottle it on current form. We won’t back a win but a 0.0 handicap at 2.00 has its value, let’s not forget that the Netherlands are at home too. We can see goals over here as well with the weakened back line that France has right now and the attacking talent that both sides provide in this match up. Over 2.5 goals is priced at 1.85, along that expect BTTS too. This should be an attacking game of football given that the Netherlands NEED a win and France are naturally a forward going team. Our prediction is a 2-1 win for the Netherlands as they’ll snap the France’s unbeaten run. Memphis Depay anytime goal scorer at 3.55 holds value.
