UEFA CL: Tottenham vs Inter Milan Match Betting Preview

This Wednesday night we have some crucial games and this is one of them as Tottenham host Inter! This game is a must win for Spurs as they are 3 pts behind and have already lost the first fixture to Inter meaning that anything other than a win and Tottenham would officially have no chance to advance to the next round. Meanwhile, Inter only need a draw here to advance. Both teams are currently on a high as Spurs went and beat down their rivals Chelsea 3-1 during the weekend while Inter bounced back with a 3-0 win in the Serie A themselves. The first game slipped out of Tottenham’s hands and the question here is, can they get the job done or will their hearts get broken by an Italian side again?

Team News

Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs are still without Trippier, Rose, Sanchez and Dembele and they can’t use their impressive youngster Juan Foyth due to not being included in the Champions League which is a blow as he played well during the injury crisis of Spurs. However Jan Vertonghen has returned and came off the bench on Saturday and is likely to start here with Foyth unavailable. Aurier and Davies will continue to start at full back positions with Trippier and Rose out. Elsewhere Lloris is available again after missing the PSV fixture with a suspension and will start in goal. Up front Expect Pochettino to go with the same attack that ripped Chelsea on Saturday.

Inter Milan: Sime Vrsaljko is the only absentee for Inter as he picked up an injury again therefore we can expect D’Ambrosio to fill at right back. Icardi, and Perisic both started on the bench during the weekends game against Frosinone and are both expected to return to the starting line-up. Otherwise there’s no other team News to report concerning Inter.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Spurs look like the better team on paper and on form right now, however there’s something about them managing to mess up games of this importance as we’ve seen before and Inter are no pushover. In terms of backing a winner, it’s better to stay away given that Spurs are only tipped at a measly 1.68 and Inter will likely settle for a point. In this game it’s best to wait until the 75th minute and back a goal to be scored in the final 15 minutes given how often Inter’s games have late goals and we could very well see desperation from one of these teams come the final stages of the game where everything could be thrown forward and it could really open up the game. We won’t back the goals over here however because of low odds again since this is a very important game and we’re likely going to see two cautious teams for the most part and only in the end someone will throw bodies forwards. We’re looking at this potentially being a 1-0/1-1 with a late goal to be scored.
