UEFA EL: Sevilla vs Lazio Betting Preview

The Europa League 2nd leg ties begin and Sevilla will seek to complete the job they started in Italy as they seek to protect their 1 goal lead against Lazio and reach the R16.

Sevilla won the 1st leg match in Italy as they defeated Lazio and kept a clean sheet in what was quite a rare away win for them this season 0-1.

Other than the Lazio win, really Sevilla have had quite horrendous run of form having lost 6 of their last 10 games, winning just 3, however as said before they did do a job on Lazio regardless in the first meeting.

Sevilla are currently coming off a disgusting defeat having lost 3-0 to Villarreal who were winless in 10 straight and sat and still do sit 18th in their league which definitely is something Sevilla must bounce back from here.

One thing going for Sevilla is the fact that they’re at home and here they look like a completely different team compared to their travels as they’ve only managed 2 total losses on their ground winning the other 15 and drawing 3 while scoring quite a lot of goals so when it comes to home form they look near unbeatable.

To add to Sevilla’s great home form this season is they do have a 100% win ratio (6/6) in Europa League including qualifiers scoring 22 and conceding 1 goal.

Sevilla are as mentioned last week, the kings of this competition having won 5 times since 2006 (2006 2007 2014 2015 2016) and are definitely considered as top favourites of the competition.

Wissam Ben Yedder is the man to watch, Sevilla’s top scorer across all competitions and have a good record in Europe. He also scored the lone goal in this tie last week to give Sevilla that 0-1 win.

Looking at Lazio, the team is currently coming off a couple bad losses for themselves as mentioned losing the 1st leg match against Sevilla at home complicating their situation here, and they followed that up with an awful 2-1 loss to Genoa blowing a lead by conceding 2 late goals so to say that they’re coming into this game frustrated might be an understatement.

One thing going for Lazio is they get their two biggest players in Milinkovic-Savic and Immobile back from injuries who they missed in the 1st leg which was one of the reasons for their defeat and should give them a mental boost in this 2nd leg tie to make a turnaround.

Lazio have struggled in their European away games this season only winning 1 of 3 against Marseille, but they did get battered 4-1 to Frankfurt and lost to a poor Apollon side 2-0.

Furthermore, Lazio have been awful in big away games, losses to Napoli, Juventus, Roma, Atalanta, draw with Inter, defeat to their toughest group opponent in Frankfurt in Europe basically sums up their inability to show up in big games on the road this season.

Ciro Immobile is the man to watch from Lazio as the man is their top scorer and biggest threat at scoring goals. As mentioned him being back will be a huge boost for the Italian side.

Sevilla are as expected bookies favourites to win this match at 1.80, Lazio being underdogs at 4.65 while Draw is tipped at 3.75. Sevilla are HUGE favourites to advance at 1.15 while Lazio to advance is 5.50 however one Lazio goal could turn that around very quickly especially if they score first. Odds based on Unibet.
