Serie A: Juventus vs Torino Betting Preview

We have a massive Derby della Mole this Friday evening as already crowned champions Juventus host European football chasing Torino.

Looking at the table, as mentioned Juventus have already secured the title with an 18 point gap with 4 games to go they simply cannot be caught. Juve could still reach 100 points though.

Meanwhile, Torino are involved in a 5 team race for Top 4 and are just 3 points away from 4th and are currently sitting 6th which could get them Europa League football however with the 4th place finish still a possibility, Torino must surely feel like they can still get into the top tier European competition and if they want that this surely is a must win scenario for them.

These teams are two of the best defensive sides in the league this season. Juventus currently hold the best defensive record with 24 goals conceded whereas Torino have only conceded 29 which is the 3rd best defensive record behind Juve and Inter.

Juventus are entering this game on a poor run of form. Only 1 win from their last 5 games (2D 2L). Considering that they have separated themselves away at the top of the league by such large margin it shouldn’t come as a surprise to see Juve have a dip in form as they have allowed themselves to take a foot off the pedal. Don’t expect that to be the case here though considering they’re facing their rivals and could spoil their European dream which is something Juve fans will demand.

Torino have been in a great run of form in fact they are one of the most in form teams in the Serie A right now. Torino have only lost 1 game from their last 14 and have won 8 of them (5D). This run of form has well and truly helped Torino emerge as a legitimate top 4 candidate. Torino are coming off a very impressive win last week too as picked up a very impressive 2-0 win against AC Milan. During this 14 game stretch, Torino have been incredible defensively especially as they’ve conceded just 7 goals and kept 9 clean sheets.

Juventus have not lost a single home game in the Serie A this season yet and they possess a ridiculous 15W 2D 0L home record while scoring 37 goals (2nd best) in the league this season. Most of Juve’s recent poor form have come away from home whereas at home they’ve consistently been really good and it’s been a massive rarity that they would drop points as only Parma and Genoa were able to get something here this season.

Torino have only tasted ONE defeat from 17 away games this season in the Serie A which is actually the least amount of defeats by any team in the league. However, 12 of Torino’s 17 away games ended up as a Draw meaning they’ve only won 4 on their travels. Torino’s only away defeat have come to Roma 3-2. They have been exceptional at avoiding defeats, but winning has also been a rarity for Torino away from home which is very extremely strange to see. Torino possess the tied best defensive away record with only 13 goals allowed.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the man to watch for Juve of course. Still within reach of becoming the top scorer as he’s 3 away from Quagliarella with 20 goals currently. Ronaldo has scored 3 goals in 4 apps since his injury and got on the scoresheet last week at Inter. Despite Juve already securing the title, don’t anticipate Cristiano to be benched as we saw last week when they played Inter.

Andrea Belotti is the man to watch for Torino. He’s been their main striker for multiple years now and yet again is having a decent season with 13 league goals. Belotti has been in solid form lately too having scored 6 goals in last 7 apps including scoring against AC Milan last week so he’ll be full of confidence to deliver in this big game for his team.

Juventus have completely dominated Torino over the recent years having gone unbeaten against them in 9 straight winning 8 of those games and keeping 5 clean sheets. Juve have not conceded in any of their last 4 matches against Torino and they defeated them in the reverse fixture 0-1 this season.

Furthermore during this decade in 8 meetings with Juve as the home team, Juventus have not lost any of their games against Torino in front of their home fans and have won 7 of them with the last match up here being won by Juve 2-0.

Juventus are tipped as favourites to win this game at 1.67 whereas Torino to win is a high 5.40 with draw offered at 3.65. Juve are the champions and are playing at home so them being as favourites shouldn’t be as a surprise to anyone, however with Torino’s ability to avoid defeats away from home pretty much this whole season and being unbeatable lately it does look like it will be a tight contest between the two sides and Juve will be seriously tested. The odds are based on Unibet.
