Serie A: Inter Milan vs Lazio Betting Preview

Inter Milan host Lazio in a massive game in the top 4 race of the Serie A.

Inter are currently sitting inside the top 4 in the 3rd place of the table and are 6 points clear of 5th placed Roma and 8 points clear of 6th placed Lazio. With a win here, they could seriously strengthen their situation in the top 4 race.

Lazio meanwhile are 6th placed as mentioned and are 6 points off the 4th placed AC Milan but have 2 games in hand and if they were to win those they could move tied with 4th placed AC Milan. A win here is also very much needed for the visitors who look to move up the standings.

Inter haven’t been playing all that great during the past month only winning 2 of last 6 games in all competitions, but they entered the international break with a massive potential momentum shifting win against their fierce rivals AC Milan as they knocked them off with a 2-3 win to move back into 3rd place and that win could very well get them back on track again.

Lazio have also seemingly overturned their bad run of form. Lazio entered the international break on a 4 game unbeaten run picking up a couple of impressive wins against Roma 3-0 and Parma 4-1 (their last game) while also getting draws against AC Milan and Fiorentina away which are not bad results either.

Inter have been a solid home team this season with 9 wins from 13 at San Siro in the Serie A (2W 2D) although their recent home form has been a little iffy winning 3 of last 7 at home in all competitions. Regardless of the home form, Inter still overall are a very good home side and a tough team to beat there and they have the best defensive record at home with just 6 conceded goals in 13 league home games.

Lazio have not been a good away side this season. In the league they’ve only got the 9th best away record and recently they’ve gone winless in 3 consecutive away games losing 2 of those.

The player to watch for Inter is their talisman Mauro Icardi. He is expected to return after being absent for some time. He’s the top scorer for the club and typically performs well in big games so Icardi is definitely the man to watch.

Ciro Immobile without a doubt is the man to watch for Lazio. He’s up to 13 league goals this season and have returned to form since his injury having scored in each of his last 2 apps for the club.

Inter and Lazio have faced off twice this season and the away side came out on top both times. Inter won the reverse Serie A fixture 0-3, however Lazio beat Inter in the Coppa Italia on Penalties at San Siro which defeat Inter will seek to avenge here this Sunday.

Looking at recent H2H at San Siro, Lazio have surprisingly had a lot of success here getting results only losing once to Inter in their last 6 visits against them while winning 2 of those games after 90 mins with the other 3 being draws.

Inter are bookies favourites to win this game at 2.28 whereas Lazio are offered at 3.25 with Draw priced at 3.30. Odds based on Unibet.
