Serie A: AC Milan vs Napoli Betting Preview

This Saturday evening we have two Serie A giants square off as 4th placed AC Milan host title chasing 2nd placed Napoli at San Siro!

To start off we’re going to talk about the hosts. AC Milan are currently 4th in the Serie A, one point clear of Roma.

Milan have been up and down in terms of form recently, but they have grabbed a good win away to Genoa most recently to move into top 4.

AC Milan’s new signing Krzysztof Piatek is in the squad and could make his debut this weekend. The Striker is 4th highest scorer in the Serie A scoring 13 goals for Genoa and will replace the departed Higuain.

AC Milan have performed exceptionally well defensively in recent weeks conceding just 2 goals and keeping 4 clean sheets in their last 6 league games. Goal scoring has really been the problem recently however as they’ve scored just 4 goals in these 6 games and were held scoreless for 4 straight at one point, but with the arrival of Piatek that should give them a huge boost going forward from now on.

AC Milan haven’t really had much success in big games winning just ONE which was against Roma 2-1. They lost to Juventus twice (one cup), Inter, Napoli, Fiorentina and also drawn with Lazio and Atalanta.

Milan have been quite solid at home picking up 20 pts from 30 (6W 2D 2L).

Visitors Napoli are still somewhat in the title race at 2nd place as they’re 9 points behind leaders Juventus and despite these title hopes fading with Juve dominating, they still are hopeful they can close the gap.

Napoli have shown good form recently winning 3 straight games in all Comps most recently defeating Lazio 2-1 last week despite missing many key players such as Koulibaly, Hamsik, Insigne.

Napoli have been inconsistent in big away games this season. They did beat Atalanta and Lazio but lost to Juventus and Inter.

Arkadiusz Milik is the man in form currently for Napoli having scored 8 goals in his last 8 apps for the club which elevated him into the top scorer of the club this season.

In the first meeting between these clubs Napoli came back from 0-2 down to defeat AC Milan 3-2 in what was a cracking fixture.

Napoli have dominated AC Milan in recent H2H going unbeaten against them in 8 straight matches winning 6 and drawing 2.

Napoli have only lost once in their last 7 visits to San Siro against AC Milan. 3W 4D. Successful historically there.

Team News

AC Milan: Milan will be without Zapata, Biglia, Bonaventura, Reina and Caldara for this man. Higuain has departed the club but new signing Piatek should make his debut.

Napoli: Napoli continue to miss Hamsik and Chiriches, however Koulibaly, Insigne and Allan are all back in the lineup after missing last weeks game with suspensions which will be a huge boost for Napoli.
