Coppa Italia: AC Milan - Napoli Betting Preview

The Coppa Italia Quarter Finals are here and we start off with a cracker as AC Milan host Napoli just 3 days after facing each other in the Serie A!

When these teams met on Saturday it ended up being a 0-0 draw as neither team could find a winner. The venue was also the same at San Siro.

AC Milan have recently not shown good form, despite that they’re currently in top 4 of Serie A and made the QFs of Coppa Italia. Milan won just 3 of their last 10 games, one of those needing extra time.

Milan have extremely struggled going forward failing to score in 7 of their last 10 games through 90 minutes which is extremely poor and after signing striker Piatek they’ll hope that he turns the fortunes around.

Milan have however looked solid defensively however which has kept them in games recently. Milan have kept 6 clean sheets in their last 10 games and we’ve seen FOUR 0-0 draws in this stretch which definitely hasn’t been entertaining for Milan fans for sure.

AC Milan haven’t really had much success in big games winning just ONE which was against Roma 2-1. They lost to Juventus twice (Super Cup, League), Inter, Napoli, Fiorentina and also drawn with Lazio, Napoli and Atalanta.

AC Milan entered Coppa Italia in the previous round and defeated Sampdoria away from home 0-2 after Extra Time to secure a spot in the Quarter Final.

Suso and Piatek are going to be players to watch going forward from Milan with Suso being the top assist man in Serie A with 8 and Piatek having 13 goals for Genoa will be looking to get his first for Milan after joining them as he’s expected to make a start.

Napoli meanwhile have easily been the 2nd best side in Italy after Juventus, but with the league out of reach, this is really the only domestic title that they have a shot at winning.

Napoli have played decent football recently winning 7 out of their last 10 games.

Napoli have been up and down in big away games this season. They beat Lazio and Atalanta, lost to Juventus and Inter and have drawn against today’s opponents Milan.

Arkadiusz Milik is still the man in form for Napoli with 8 goals in his last 9 apps despite not bagging a goal against AC Milan most recently on Saturday.

Napoli have pretty much owned AC Milan in recent H2H now going 9 unbeaten against them. 6W 3D.

5 of last 8 match ups between these sides ended as draws at San Siro after 90 mins. Only 1 win for Milan, 3 for Napoli. Even in Milan, Napoli have been able to get results.

Bookies have Napoli as the favourites this evening at the odds of 2.30 to win in 90 mins. A Draw is 3.15 and Milan to win is 3.35 in 90 mins. In terms of qualifying Milan are 2.20 and Napoli are favoured at 1.65.

Team News

AC Milan: Cristian Zapata, Mattia Caldara, Lucas Biglia and Pepe Reina all remain out for Milan. Expect Gattuso to field a strongest possible line-up out there with the new signing Piatek making his first start after coming off the bench on Saturday.

Napoli: Vlad Chiriches is the only absentee for Carlo Ancelotti’s team but he’s been out since the start of the season.
