Coppa Italia: Atalanta - Juventus Betting Preview

The Coppa Italia Quarter Finals continue and here we have a clash between the highest scoring and the best Serie A teams as Atalanta host Juventus!

We’re going to begin with the hosts Atalanta. This club have been arguably the most entertaining side in Italy having scored the most goals and conceding quite a lot too. In fact Atalanta’s games are the highest scoring in Italy this season.

Atalanta are currently showing some very good form having won 2 of their 3 games and drawing the other against Roma after coming back from 0-3 down in what was quite an incredible comeback! Atalanta scored 10 goals in these 3 games.

In Coppa Italia, Atalanta entered the competition in the previous round so they only had to win one game to reach the Quarters which they did by defeating Cagliari away from home 0-2.

Duvan Zapata is the danger man to watch during this clash given that he’s 2nd tied top scorer with Cristiano Ronaldo in Serie A which in itself is crazy but his form right now is unbelievable as he’s scored 15 goals in his last 9 games scoring at least one in each of those games and he’s bagged 2 hattricks in the run!

Atalanta have done pretty decent against the big teams at Home this season having beaten Inter 4-1, Lazio 1-0. They drew with their today’s opponents Juventus 2-2 and Roma 3-3 and the lone loss came to Napoli 1-2.

Juventus are absolutely by far the best team in the Serie A and it’s not even close. 2nd best attack in the Serie A, best defense arguably in the whole of Europe and they are for sure hungry for more coming into this tie!

Juventus are currently on very good form having won 5 consecutive games across all competitions.

Excluding 2 defeats in UCL, Juve are undefeated against Italian sides this season having drawn just 2 of total 23 games in Italian competitions (Serie A, Coppa Italia, Super Cup) winning the other 21. Pure dominance.

Just like Atalanta, Juventus entered the competition in the previous round and knocked off Bologna away from home defeating them 0-2.

This season Juventus have basically been just as good away from home as they have been at home. In fact Serie A and Coppa Italia combined their record is 10W 1D 0L at Home and Away.

It’s pretty clear who the player to watch out for from Juventus. The one and only Cristiano Ronaldo who is currently on a run of scoring in 8 consecutive Serie A away games and one of those did involve a goal against their current opponents Atalanta where he saved Juventus from their first league defeat.

Juventus have been GREAT in big away games they defeated AC Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio while grabbing a 2-2 draw with Atalanta.

As already mentioned the last meeting between these sides ended in a 2-2 draw which was quite an entertaining game where Juventus were closest to tasting their first league defeat. Atalanta should give them quite a challenge here again.

Bookies have of course got Juventus as favourites to win at 2.08, Atalanta as underdogs at 3.70 and a draw at 3.30 in the first 90 mins. In terms of qualifying to the Semis Juve are 1.45, Atalanta 2.65.

Team News

Atalanta: Ali Adnan is the only absentee for Atalanta, otherwise it’s a full strength squad.

Juventus: Leonardo Bonucci and Medhi Benatia are both out for Juve leaving them short at the CB position. Also attackers Juan Cuadrado and Mario Mandzukic are out for Allegri.
