Euroleague: Quarter Finals Game 2 – 18th April 2019 Preview



The Euroleague Playoffs continue and with all the Game 1s done we now move on to Game 2s as CSKA host Baskonia and Fenerbache host Zalgiris. Here’s some betting stats for the games!


CSKA Moscow vs Baskonia


CSKA will seek to take a 2-0 series lead as they host Baskonia who look to bounce back after CSKA demolished them 94-68 in Game 1.


Totals


CSKA Moscow have covered 43.8% of their total point overs at home in the Euroleague this season (7-9) and each of their last 4 home games have had an Under. The total for this game is 162.5 points which is a total that CSKA have not had at home this season, but the closest that they’ve had to that was a 164 point total against Buducnost and that resulted with an Over as CSKA won 99-69.


Baskonia have covered 50% of their total point overs on the road in the Euroleague this season (8-8), but are also on a hot streak of having an Under as each of their last 5 road games have had an Under. Baskonia have not had a 162.5 total on the road this season, but they have had a very close 162 point total once against Panathinaikos and that ended with an Under as Baskonia lost 72-70.


Handicaps


CSKA Moscow have covered 31.2% of their Handicaps at home in the Euroleague which is the competitions worst percentage (5-1-10). They haven’t had a +8 road Handicap this season, however they had a very close +8.5 Handicap twice against Fenerbache which they failed to cover in a 96-87 win and against Panathinaikos which they covered in a 72-70 loss. Also of course had a +7.5 Handicap against CSKA which as mentioned they didn’t cover in a 94-68 loss.

CSKA have straight up dominated Baskonia at home winning 16 consecutive matches now and are 2-0 against them this season beating them in the final Regular Season game 82-78 and in Game 1 of the Playoffs 94-68.


In the Game 1 of the Playoffs, CSKA of course comfortably destroyed Baskonia and in that match up CSKA covered a -7.5 Handicap and total 164.5 points ended with an Under as the teams totalled 162 points.


Injury Report


CSKA Moscow: Mikhail Kulagin is expected to be out again, however everyone else are available.


Baskonia: Jayson Granger is Questionable to return after missing action for a few months, meanwhile everyone else are healthy for the visitors.

Fenerbache vs Zalgiris Kaunas


After absolutely demolishing Zalgiris Kaunas and locking them down completely defensively in a 76-43 win, the 1st seeded Fenerbache will seek to continue their hot play and will look to take a 2-0 series lead against their 8th seeded opponents.


Totals


Fenerbache have covered 50% of their total point overs at home this season (8-8) however just 3 of last 11 after starting 5-0 with the Overs. The total for this game is 146.5 points which is their lowest home total all season with the previous lowest and the closest to that being against Zalgiris as well and that was in Game 1 of the Playoffs when the total was 148.5 points and that ended with a comfortable Under as Fenerbache won 76-43 totalling a measly 119 points.


Zalgiris have covered just 37.5% of their total point overs on the road this season (6-10) and after starting 4-1 with Overs, just 2 of their last 11 road games have had an Over. For Zalgiris the 146.5 point total is also their lowest on the road this season with the previous lowest also being 148.5 points which they had twice against Buducnost with ended with an Under in a 60-72 and of course in Game 1 of the Playoffs against Fenerbache which also ended with an Under in a 76-43 loss.

They are 12 point favourites in this game which is a Handicap they’ve not had at home this season, but the closest that they’ve had to that was a -12.5 Handicap against Gran Canaria which they covered in a 97-72 win. Zalgiris have covered 56.2% of their Handicaps on the road this season (9-7). They have not had a +12 road Handicap this season, but the closest that they’ve had to that was a +10.5 Handicap against CSKA which was the only time they were double digit underdogs on the road this season and they did cover the Handicap in a 99-97 loss.

Fenerbache have won 3 of their last 4 home games against Zalgiris and are 2-0 against them this season with two dominant wins 78-61 in the Regular Season and 76-43 in the Game 1 of the Playoffs.

Injury Report


Fenerbache: Tyler Ennis is OUT again while Joffrey Lauvergne is listed as doubtful for the hosts. They both missed Game 1, but it didn’t affect Fenerbache.


Zalgiris Kaunas: Laurynas Birutis continues to be out which isn’t a big deal, meanwhile captain Paulius Jankunas could suit up after missing action for the past few weeks including Game 1 of the Playoffs
