EPL: Watford vs Manchester City Match Betting Preview

This midweek we have Premier League action and Pep’s men are in action on Tuesday away at out of form Watford. Manchester City have been dominant, but haven’t been able to extend their gap at the top as they’re only 2 pts above Liverpool so they have to make sure to keep winning and in this game they should do so as Watford have been playing some poor football picking up just 1 of their last 12 available points. Man City have destroyed Watford a couple teams in the past 2 seasons away from home and Pep will be hoping for the same outcome whereas Watford will seek to SHOCK the world here.

Team News

Watford: Watford will be without Adalberto Penaranda who is injured and Etienne Capoue who is serving his suspension. However, Daryl Janmaat and Tom Cleverley have a chance of returning from their injuries for this game but are unlikely to start after missing time. Elsewhere everyone’s available.

Manchester City: City could still be without Sergio Aguero who’s listed as doubtful with an injury therefore Gabriel Jesus will likely lead the line again. Oleksandr Zinchenko broke his nose against Bournemouth and is also listed as doubtful in which case Fabian Delph is likely to start at LB while Benjamin Mendy is out. Kevin de Bruyne and Bravo both remain out. Pep made rotations during the weekends game with the likes of David Silva and Walker sitting on the bench and will likely rotate again with the Chelsea game on the horizon but with the depth of City it’s still going to be a very strong side out there.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Man City is the team to back here of course. City’s -1.5 handicap is priced at 1.84 and we’re backing that. Even with a potentially rotated side, Peps men are just way too strong for their opponents Watford who aren’t even showing good form right now so mix that lack of form with the opponent you’re facing and all of a sudden it looks like a long evening for Watford. City to keep a clean sheet is another good bet here given their defensive record and Watford’s lack of scoring in recent weeks. In terms of goals scorers, Sterling to score is a decent bet at 2.18 given his form this season and the possibility of Aguero being out again making Sterling City’s biggest threat to score. We anticipate a 0-3 win for the Citizens here.
