Team News

Tottenham: Spurs are coming into this game with a couple of very key absentees those being captain Hugo Lloris and a key creator Dele Alli. It’s a huge blow for Spurs because Liverpool are not the type of opponent where you can afford losing key players. To replace Lloris, it will be Michel Vorm in goal again after not playing so well in the previous matchday against Watford and it’s a worry because we all know that Liverpool will create chances and whether Vorm can put in a good shift is questionable. One good bit of news is that Son Heung Min could potentially feature for Spurs in this game, but whether he’ll start for Alli right away after coming back from national duty for Korea is unlikely we could see a little chance in tactics and someone like Dier or Wanyama could replace Alli. Tactically we expect Pochettino to be a little cautious but we can expect Spurs to go at Liverpool. Kane Lucas and Eriksen are going to have to be on their game to break down that tough Liverpool backline.

Liverpool: Well, there isn’t any big news concerning Liverpool’s team. Lovren is still out so Joe Gomez will more than likely continue to occupy that position alongside van Dijk. We did see Klopp change his line-up for the first time against Leicester this season by bringing in Henderson over Keita which was a little weird considering how good Keita has been and we expect him to get back in the squad, it’s just that it’s hard to predict over who out of Henderson, Milner or Wijnaldum as all are playing well right now. Expect Liverpool to put out a similar line-up to the one they’ve been using all season and they should be on the front foot, but because they’re away, Klopp may use the counter attacking approach and with players like Salah Mane and Firmino they totally have potential to rip Tottenham apart.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Given the current circumstances, we can only see a Liverpool win here. They look fantastic to start the season, a completely different team if you compare to how they looked the last time they faced Spurs at Wembley. Not only that, Liverpool have a fully healthy squad ready to go again after the international break, while Spurs are down Alli and Lloris and these are HUGE absentees, especially Lloris because we know how many chances Liverpool will create and well Vorm just isn’t as good as Lloris. Liverpool win at 2.25 is our pick, and also if you want to risk even more a -1.5 Liverpool handicap at 4.30 is worth a try. Spurs confidence must surely be shaken after losing to Watford right after beating United which is just such a typical Spurs thing to do. We’re not going to go into overs and unders for goals here because it’s too risky to go either way. Over doesn’t have much value but you wouldn’t go for an under either. We’re simply going to stick with a Liverpool win here for this match and also Mane to score anytime as soon as the bets are available for goal scorers. We’re thinking a 0-2 Liverpool win with Mane and Salah being the scorers. Spurs will miss Alli’s influence which will affect their attacking threat and against Liverpool’s backline it will be very tough for Spurs which is why we think Liverpool will be able to hold them off while their dominant attack will get a couple of goals as usual and get a statement win.
