Team News

Manchester United: Manchester United don’t have any new injury news, but Lingard, Herrera and Rojo are all out for this match again after missing out their midweek game in the Champions League while Herrera is a doubt. During the midweek game we saw Alexis back in the line-up but yet another poor performance got him subbed off for Martial. Rashford started too but didn’t really stand out. With Lingard most likely out the fight for places on the wings are going to stay between Alexis Martial and Rashford while Lukaku is expected to start up top. Fred was on the bench again and is probably going to stay there now that Fellaini Matic and Pogba seem to be getting the nod constantly. At the back we saw Bailly get a start and he put in a good shift so Mourinho will have to make a choice between him, Lindelof and Jones. Elsewhere there’s nothing to report.

Newcastle United: Joselu is expected to start up top again as new signing Solomon Rondon will be out with an injury and the defender Lejeune is also out, meanwhile Yedlin, Fernandez and Dummett are all doubts and will have to face fitness tests to prove that they can feature in this match. If Yedlin can’t feature then Manquillo is the most likely replacement to start. We should expect to see a similar line-up to the one that featured against Leicester even after another poor performance because Rafa simply just doesn’t have a lot of depth to be able to move players around and given that they’re facing Man Utd even with the form that they’re in, this is simply not the game to move players around. Newcastle fans will hope that the likes of Shelvey, Atsu, Ritchie can create enough chances for Newcastle to have a shot at picking something up here.

Betting Tips and Predictions

This is one of those games where leaving it out might be the best option. The odds on Man Utd are too low at 1.42 given their form and handicaps aren’t worth it either because this team does not look like battering anyone at this moment in time. Under 2.5 goals at 1.90 is a pick worth the look though. Neither attack is exactly showing great signs, Man Utd’s attack has been solid to start the season, but recently it’s gotten really poor. Lukaku can’t score, Pogba is not in form, Alexis looks awful and Rashford/Martial are inconsistent. Newcastle themselves can’t seem to score goals, they’ve been scoreless in 3 of their 7 league games already, Joselu isn’t exactly a premier league starting material striker either. We could very well just see a 0-0 draw or a 1-0 win either way. Newcastle have actually put in decent fight against every other big club they’ve faced this season and Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, City are all playing much better football than Man Utd so there is a possibility that Newcastle may snatch something out of this game considering that Man Utd have NOT made old Trafford a fortress at all with 1 win in 5. Newcastle +1 AH at 2.15 is definitely worth the try, they won’t get destroyed. Two out of form teams, expect a lot of cautiousness both ways therefore we should see the end result be nothing more than a 1-0 either way or 1-1. We could see a ton of bookings here considering that both sides are frustrated right now.
