EPL: Tottenham vs Manchester United Betting Preview

Today we have an intriguing clash between two RED HOT form showing sides as Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester United at Wembley Stadium

The visitors today, Manchester United are currently living a completely re-birth with Jose Mourinho gone and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer taking over the manager duties this club has played their best football to date this season, however they haven’t faced anyone as good as Spurs and it will be the first REAL test for the new look United.

After Mourinho’s last game, the 3-1 loss to Liverpool, Manchester United have won 5 games out of 5 in all competitions and they’ve played some unbelievable attacking football scoring 16 goals (3.2 per game) as players like Pogba have rejuvenated and hit top form.

Tottenham have also been putting up incredible numbers in their recent games. In the last 10 games, Tottenham won 8, drawn 1 and lost 1. The lone loss came shockingly to Wolves and they drew Barcelona away which is an impressive achievement in its own so Spurs have clearly been on fire bar that one blip vs Wolves coming into today.

Spurs, just like their opponents today have been on fire attacking wise scoring 21 goals in their last 5 games (4.2 per game), but 7 of those did come against Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup.

As a whole Spurs have scored 5+ goals in 3 of their past 10 games so you can always anticipate a potential explosion from their attack.

These teams have met each other already this season and Spurs demoralised Man Utd with a 0-3 away win at Old Trafford thanks to a show from Lucas Moura who will likely come off the bench here.

We should anticipate a much closer encounter this time around given how rejuvenated Man Utd are. Spurs are still tipped as favourites as they’re priced to win at around 2.20 (2.17 at Unibet), but Man Utd are definitely not being too underestimated (3.50 odds to win at Unibet) because of their recent great form

Tottenham don’t have too many injury concerns as Victor Wanyama and Eric Dier are the only guaranteed absentees who Spurs have adjusted to playing without anyway. Lucas Moura will have to be assessed while Dembele and Vertonghen are available again.

Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez have dealt with minor injuries but are both expected to be available. Eric Bailly is suspended while Chris Smalling is doubtful and Marcos Rojo is out so defensively United could get a little bit challenged here. They already struggle at the back with only 3 clean sheets from 21 league games and it will be their biggest worry coming into today.

Players to watch today will be Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Son Heung Min who combined have scored 9 goals in the past 5 games.

Man Utd have a good record playing away to Tottenham historically with a 12W 8D 3L record in the past 23 meetings. However they did manage to lose to Spurs in the previous 2 encounters away from home in the League. They met twice at Wembley last season with Spurs winning 2-0 in the league but United winning a Cup Semi against them 2-1 later that season in what was more of a neutral setting.

Spurs are currently still fighting for the title, while United are trying to return into the Top 4 race. A defeat hammers either teams chances at reaching their goal here since Spurs are 9 pts behind Liverpool, while United are 9 pts behind 4th placed Chelsea.
