Liverpool are coming into the new season with an even stronger squad and they are tipped the biggest threat to Manchester City’s title defence. Liverpool are coming off of a very exciting season where they reached the Uefa CL Final and finished 4th in the league with Mohammed Salah hitting a record breaking 32 goals in the league. Although, Liverpool failed to win anything it was a very inspiring season for the reds and they are coming into the new one with hopes of winning the league and possibly the European trophy. Liverpool have worked on their weaknesses in the transfer window by adding a new goalkeeper Alisson, two really solid midfielders in Naby Keita and Fabinho and they added depth to their already lethal attack in Xherdan Shaqiri and Daniel Sturridge is back from loan and his pre-season was promising scoring a few goals and it could maybe give him hope of becoming a solid squad player that can impact games. These new additions should really help elevate Liverpool into a team that can break the long drought of not winning the league and they are considered as one of the best teams in the world in general right as they really have no serious weaknesses in this team. Their goalkeeper problem is sorted, defence is decent although that may be one weakness if we’re looking at the squad as it could still be improved but it’s not something to worry about with Van Dijk in the squad for the whole season as he really helped Liverpool improve at the back towards the end of last season, their midfield is strong and deep and they obviously have arguably the best attacking trio in the world in Mane Firmino and Salah. One key player that Liverpool did lose was Emre Can but as mentioned the additions of Fabinho and Keita should negate immediately. It’s going to be a fun season, full of hope and excitement and maybe just maybe this squad will be able to knock Manchester City off the top and win their long waited 19th league title led by their entertaining attacking trio. Expect lots and lots of goals by Liverpool this season!
