Crystal Palace Team Preview

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are coming from a very successful end of season last year and they’ll be looking to build on to that this year. After a very slow start losing first 7 games and scoring no goals in those last season, Crystal Palace eventually woke up and played the rest of the season very strongly finishing in 11th place, 11 points clear of relegation. Crystal Palace played some really good football under Roy Hogdson who if been hired earlier, could’ve taken Palace to an even higher finish. Wilfred Zaha was top class throughout the whole season and it’s also official that their main man is going to stay for at least another year at Palace which is great news for the team. During the transfer window, Palace lost Ruben Loftus-Cheek as he went back to Chelsea after a loan deal and Yohan Cabaye was another key player that left. Crystal Palace however replaced them with a former West Ham man Cheikhou Kouyate, they got Jordan Ayew on loan from Swansea who is a really good addition and can supply goals in case Benteke goes ghosting again and last but not least they’ve also signed Max Meyer who is considered as their main signing and many Palace fans are excited about this signing. Other than that, Palace are pretty much the same team as last season. They have lots of solid attacking talent, for sure better than most sides around the mid table and with the success that Roy Hogdson has had with this squad, you really wouldn’t bet against this team reaching a top 10 finish, potentially top 7 especially if Benteke can come back to his old goal scoring form which he is definitely capable of doing as we’ve seen before and if not Jordan Ayew can do perfectly do a job in front which is great for Palace as they lacked depth at strikers position. Crystal Palace have a very talented squad on paper and after making it finally click towards the end of last season we should expect them to build on from that. A good pre-season under their belt should also help them with confidence as they start the season. Top 10 finish will be the main target for Palace as their fans are eager to watch Zaha and Max Meyer play together.
