Burnley Team Preview

Burnley

Sean Dyche’s men are coming off of their successful season in the Premier League era! Burnley finished 7thlast year and qualified for the European football. Burnley are one of the most hard working, gritty sides to play against and that is how they’ve been able to reach the successes in the recent two seasons especially last season. Burnley are not a very good team going forward as we’ve seen when they were only the 15thhighest scoring team but the reason they finished 7th is due to their strong defensive powers. Burnley had pretty much conceded the same amount as Chelsea and Tottenham last season and that is why they managed to finished as high as they did. Now this season not many people expect Burnley to repeat the success of last season due to having to concentrate on European football for which they still have to qualify so we don’t really know whether they will have that distraction throughout but as for now we have to consider that as a possible thing for Burnley. Burnley haven’t made any huge deals throughout the transfer window as they’ve been relatively quiet except a couple of new signings towards the deadline day in Matej Vydra and Joe Hart, the latter was really the one who could turn out to be a key with Nick Pope and Tom Heaton injured right now. Burnley’s squad is basically the same as last season. A lack of depth coming into the season could turn out to be a problem if Burnley have to focus on Europe aswell as League and cups, but one thing we know is that Burnley will work hard every game and will be a very tough nut to crack for opponents. They may not finish as high as they did last year, but mid table finish is inevitable for this side.
