Team News

Liverpool: Dejan Lovren is still out for Liverpool, therefore Joe Gomez should continue to take up his starting spot at CB. There is one bit of bad news for Liverpool as Firmino could potentially miss out due to an eye injury he suffered against Spurs. Although it was determined that the injury won’t be long lasting, it’s still only been 3 days since the game and it may be too early for him to play again. Worse case scenario, we could see Daniel Sturridge or someone else fill in for Firmino. Otherwise there’s nothing to report regarding Liverpool’s team. Klopp always used a 4-3-3 this season and will continue to do so. Keita got back in the squad over Henderson during the weekend. It’s up to Klopp whether he wants to change up the midfield although it seems unlikely given the form that Wijnaldum, Keita and Milner are showing.

PSG: We saw a rotated PSG side against St Etienne but they still won 4-0. Mbappe and Neymar were both out for that game with Mbappe suspended and Neymar rested. Now both will slot back into the line-up alongside Cavani up front who featured during the weekend and scored. Verratti has returned into the side during the weekend but could be benched for Marquinhos whose been occupying the CDM position recently and given Liverpool’s attack we can expect Tuchel to go with a safer approach. PSG don’t have any serious injuries to report really. It’s a full strength in form side. This is going to be their first REAL test of the season.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Let’s be honest, everyone thinks this game will have a goal fest and so do we. The attacking talent on the pitch is simply ridiculous and even with solid defences this will be tough for both sides to hold off the other. Salah Mane Firmino(?) Mbappe Cavani and Neymar. Just look at these names! Liverpool’s backline has shown solid defending this season but they have not come up against anyone on the level of PSG. Tottenham was the toughest but Spurs were injury riddled and still got one goal. PSG themselves are not defending that well to be fair, only 2 clean sheets allowed teams like Nimes, Angers and Guingamp get a goal or two against them so coming up against Liverpool there’s a definite possibility that they could concede a few. Last season PSG had high scoring games against Europe’s elites in Bayern and Madrid, Liverpool did too against City Roma and Real Madrid therefore we can only see an overish game. Over 3.5 at 2.15 is our pick. We expect a 2-2 draw. A draw at 3.65 is definitely worth the look too.
