NBA: Golden State Warriors vs Philadelphia 76ers Betting Preview

The Red Hot Golden State will seek to continue their dominant run of games in Cousins home debut as they host another elite team in Philadelphia 76ers in what looks like a great game!

Golden State Warriors

Warriors are finally back home after making a statement going 5-0 on their recent road trip beating the Clippers, Lakers, Celtics, Wizards and Pacers and doing so dominantly for the most part. Since Boogie returned they have looked even better than they have probably ever looked and that is absolutely scary to think about. Cousins have fit in with this team very well and has already had a 20 point game in the last game in Indiana. Warriors this season have struggled against elite teams at Home, but realistically looking they are a completely different team to what they looked like a month ago for example as everyone have now hit top form and only god knows who can stop them here. Injury wise Draymond Green will return tonight after resting on Tuesday, Jerebko is also expected to be back while Damian Jones continues to be out.

Injury Report:

Draymond Green – WILL Play

Jonas Jerebko – Questionable

Damian Jones – OUT

Philadelphia 76ers

The gruelling schedule continues for the 76ers as they travel to Golden State! So far Philly have dealt with the schedule pretty well being 4-2 in their last 6 games beating Indiana, Houston, San Antonio and LA Lakers while losing to OKC and Denver against who they missed Embiid and Butler. Philadelphia by the way have been going through injury issues themselves with Embiid missing a game, Butler missing a couple but they’re both now back and Philly’s big 3 are ready to pounce tonight and make statement possibly? Philadelphia have looked like a team who are starting to figure it out but they still have their issues with a lack of bench production and road struggles where they’re 12-13, they must definitely improve on those aspects and when the stars sit on the bench that is where Philly are going to either win or lose the game. Injury wise Fultz, Zhaire Smith and Patton are all continue to be out, Jonah Bolden should be back.

Injury Report

Markelle Fultz – OUT

Zhaire Smith – OUT

Justin Patton – OUT

Jonah Bolden – Probable to Play

Betting Stats

Totals

Warriors are around the bottom 10 at covering point totals at just 45.83% (11-13). Safe to say that some of that may come down to the fact that their point totals tend to be extremely high and sometimes very hard to cover for example like tonight where the total is 240.5. Ironically enough though the two times that the Warriors have had a 240.5 point total this season they covered an over against the Bucks where they lost 111-134 and against the Pelicans where they won 147-140 accumulating a crazy total of 287 points (all-star game type numbers).

Sixers are one of the best road teams at covering total point overs at 56% (14-11). Tonight’s total is by far the highest that is given to Philadelphia on the Road however as they previous high was 235 points against the Clippers which came up just short of an over and resulted in an under as 76ers won the game 113-119.

Handicaps

Warriors have been pretty awful at covering Handicaps at home at just 41.7% (10-1-13). Warriors are 9.5 point favourites tonight and they’ve had this Handicap before against the Pelicans covering it by .5 points winning the game 131-121. They were also 9 point favourites against the Lakers which they failed to cover and got blown out 101-127.

76ers are bottom 3 in covering Handicaps at only 40% on the road this season (10-15). However most of that came early in the season as most recently they’ve been covering them more often covering 4 of their last 7. 9.5 point underdog is their largest underdog handicap all season with the previous high being 9 points against Denver which they didn’t cover losing 126-110 however in that game Embiid and Butler were out.

Recent H2H in Golden State

Warriors have won 6 straight by an average of 20.83 pts against Philadelphia in recent H2H at Home completely outplaying them and dominating them.

Most recent match up was last season where Golden State won 135-114 against the 76ers at Home last season. Warriors covered a -13.5 point handicap and the total 230.5 points resulted in an Over.

Match Start – 1st February 2019 – 3:30am UK Time
