: Umag 2017 (Croatia) ATP250 tournament summer clay or midseason, while some players are on holiday’s, other are playing or training hard. 540,310 € prize fond in this tournament,   winner gets 85,945 € it‘s quite good money and of course 250 ranking points. Umag is one of the most prestigious tournament in Croatia, more than 20 years old, he starts every summer. What we have this year in this tournament ? Biggest stars are David Goffin and Gael Monfils, unfortunately Gael lost in his first match, but David Goffin is still playing and reached QF.
Today’s Matches, we are in QF so let’s talk about this round. Goffin (1) – Dodig, Giannessi - Silva Dutra, Vesely (8) - Lorenzi (4), Fognini (3) – Rublev. Four seeded players and four unseeded players, well for today we can say David Goffin must win, maybe Fabio Fognini too, but it can be not so simple for all favorites today. 13,970 € players already have for reaching this round and 45 points. Everyone wants to reach semifinal, we can say for Rublev,Gianessi and Silva it would be a good result, but for Goffin its not enough, his main goal is to win a title here. Some good players lost in too soon, so it’s much easier for Belgian player to take a title home.

First Match : David Goffin will meet Ivan Dodig, who is currently getting fit after few bad years, we know he gets injured very often, wrist, leg, back so his rating went down to 412 place. Don’t underestimate him, he knows how play good tennis and his experience for sure will help him. Now mostly in doubles playing Ivan have very successful career there, even won few Grand slam titles. So Croatian will be ready for Belgian, but what David can do today? Well he played very well all season, still no titles, but this season he is good, so a lot of chances he will win today, even after yesterday’s hard fight versus Balazs A he will be even more motivated. Before this match they met two times and both times David won in two set’s.

Second Match : Giannessi Alesandro versus Silva Dutra well this one match is perfect for people who likes 50/50, both players are even in this match. Alesandro  is always near top hundred, after this match he will be in top 100 again, while Silva is in his highest spot ever 64. After beating Monfils Silva looks very dangerous, but don’t be afraid too soon, after win like this it’s always harder to fight in next battle versus player who is lower in rating. Italian plays very uncomfortable tennis for a lot of players, it hard to say how Silva will play today, but it’s going to bet not easy, like we saw earlier this year when Alessandro in south America won both times, second time in two set’s. Both players can call themselves clayers, because of them played more than 400 matches on clay, so we can say it going to be long fight between these guy’s.

Third Match Vesely Jiri and Lorenzi Paolo,  a different match, also very nice for watching. Why so? Well, Jiri is tall player and very strong with great serve, strange but he likes to play on clay courts and not the faster courts like hard, he feels comfortable on clay and knows how to play, a title won few weeks ago proves that. Paolo is totally different player, a small one and fast one.. He won his first title on ATP when he was 34 years old and now he is 36 years old. Sounds he is old? But not true he is still very fast, flexible and can play really well, he is still near the highest point of his ranking. Difference between players is very good for viewers its always says it’s going to be great match, as we can prove it with statistics h2h , all matches played between these two players are totally long bombs with game totals over 30. This year they met in Makarech QF and played three long sets and last set Tiebreak decided the winner of the match it was Vesely Jiri.

Last Match : Fabio Fognini – Andrey Rublev, a match which makes most questions for today, can a youngster from Russia win versus Fabio? Who yesterday fought in very hard match and dropped second set with bagel? Russian plays very well, two matches he played he won 2-0, in yesterday match versus Martin Andrej he was trailing 5-2 in first set, but A. Rublev managed make comeback and win first set. This year players have similar result on clay 9 wins 9 looses for Fabio and 8 wins for Andrey. Fabio is a clayer type of player we know that, he is best here, but Andrey Rublev likes to play on indoors courts, like carpet or hard, he is best
