Tournament preview by MoreTennis :
One of three tournaments this week is Atlanta ATP250, this event is in USA and the first tournament on hard in America this summer. A lot of players is going to this low level tournament to get fit for all better tournaments and of course US OPEN. 720,410 $ prize in this tournament is quite good and winner gets 114,595 $. It‘s perfect place for home players to get WC or get seeded, ussually we will see few better players from outside USA and a lot players from USA and players from end of top100. Americans really like this event, especially this tournament is important for John Isner he won title here many times, before him other americans like Andy Rodick won it too. Last year champion Nick Kyrgios won’t defend his title here because of injury. Interesting thing about tournament from 2001 to 2010 it was closed and didn’t exist, but after almost ten year break he successful comes every year again.

What we will have here this year? Let’s talk about players who came here, Jack Sock is number one seeded player here and his fights for title will start from second round. Same goes for other American John Isner, and Ryan Harrison, and one European Muller Gilles. Other seeded player will play from round one, also like WildCard holders, who got lucky? Fritz Taylor Harry he got WC here, but he also reached a QF round last year, Eubanks Christopher youngster from USA, he only played this year 12 matches and won 9 of them, last year record first round here, he is in 461 ranking spot. Opelka Reilly last one who got WC, 128 ranking place for him at this time, last year he reached semifinal here, so it’s very important for him to defend his points. Lucky Looser Tim Smyczek can be happy too, he will meet Donald Young (6 seeded player), who is in very good shape this season.

Most interesting matches on first round : M.Baghdatis – K.Edmund  the clash of different generations, Marco getting older and older, all those injuries doesn’t let him play good tennis, while Kyle is young player and every year he gets better, also he is seed no. 5 here. Marco is ten year older, who likes fast courts mostly, Kyle is different player, he plays well on clay court. Kyle never played here yet, but Marco in 2015 reached final and lost to American John Isner.
Also interesting match is between wildcarders Fritz Taylor, who recently became father and is married, at very young age he became family man, we hope it will help for him to perform well, second player is Cristopher Eubanks who is one year older, but only 461 in ranking. If we compare both of them, it’s easy to say Fritz Taylor made much better decision in tennis careers, he went full on it, played every tournament, trained all the time, while C. Eubanks chosen to play at university, play only Futures and small tournaments at college level. Anyway they both are good players and will meet for first time at ATP level tournament.

We can say all real fights going to start at second round with seeded player, while first round is very complicated and it hard to say who will win, who is much more fit for this tournament or who just using this tournament like warm up for future tournaments.
