Qatar worked so hard in this selection that now we are in such a situation where it's not just a direct path to the championship, but even getting to the next round of selections is uncertain. To do that, we need to win either here or against the Uzbeks, or hope that the Kyrgyz will stumble. Their offense usually performs very well, but their defense is such a mess that it's concerning. Although it was never very good there, as their defense leaders age, it's becoming even weaker. Today they face a very strong offense (by Asian standards), but luckily, Iran doesn't really have anything to play for in this match, so the visitors probably won't defend too actively.
