As I saw in both games, Potapova is riding the wave in this tournament. Maybe even changing citizenship to Austrian, she feels like a local 😁 , I think even the viewers have some sympathy and support for her. Very good game from Potapova with Korpatch, then with the local Tagger who played perfectly in the first set but Potapova managed to win the tiebreak. She practically makes no unnecessary errors, as she did before, which surprised me. She handles the episodes well and plays confidently.
Vekic played against Pliskova, as much as I watched, it was one of the blankest matches I've seen here. Too many mistakes and poor movement, Vekic collected quite a few double faults from her serve. So I don't see her as a favorite at all.
