Paolini Jasmine's 30m Italian game is unrecognizable this season. Maybe she had some kind of breakdown after the 2025 final tournament, where all the players collapsed and she couldn't recover. This year, she reached the third stages and semifinals at AO in WTA Meridoj, but didn't achieve anything significant apart from beating Sasnovich and Potapova. Usually, she was favored by the many underdogs and always won in two sets, against players like Bencic, Jovic, Sakkari, Eala, and Bucsa. So even the players she defeated were not top tier. I only watched her match against Potapova, only the first set though, but it seemed like she started off strong but then started giving away her serves, struggling with rallies and making unusual mistakes. It seems like her strength is limited. She has a short height, no serve, and makes mistakes in the game.
Tomljanovic Ajla, a 32-year-old Australian, surprisingly impressed at this tournament. I saw her match against Chinese player Wang X, and the Chinese player was completely overwhelmed. She has great shots and a decent serve. Her drawbacks are that she makes quite a few double faults and has been dealing with injuries in recent years, but the match against the Chinese player was enjoyable to watch.
