Eurobasket quarterfinals. France against Georgia. We're going with a plus handicap for Georgia.
The French are not convincing that they are an unstoppable force in the championship. They were first in their group but lost to Israel, struggled with Slovenia and Poland. There were no blowouts, only against the bottom teams (Iceland and Belgium). After the loss of Sarr and some weaker performances, they don't seem as strong, and the big plus for Georgia is their tall players. But even at first glance, the French don't look good, they don't have that aura that they usually have around them. The players and names on paper are not bad, but as a team, they don't look good.
Personally, I was a bit surprised that the Georgians lost to Bosnia, but it also says a lot about Bosnia, that they won't be pushovers here. Overall, without a match against the Greeks, they look pretty good. The big plus is their coach Dzikicius. I think he is one of the best coaches in the championship. If Bitadze and Toko play well, it will be trouble for the French under the basket. And both of them can also hit three-pointers. I hope Baldwin and Mamukelashvili have a more solid performance than in their last game. Especially the latter's contribution.
