The EPL season is back and in my opinion, there is an interesting pairing, although this year I don't really believe that the Villa players will achieve anything similar as they worked too weakly during the transfer window. However, the main core has been preserved, the midfielders are the same, the attackers are the same with one addition, which after Watkins' changes could punish solidly. But overall, they didn't do anything groundbreaking during the transfer window that would inspire them this season. It is possible that the European tournaments cost them a lot of money and because of that, they did not manage to grab Peru. Speaking of Newcastle, as long as the drama with Isak is going on, they may have problems. They also have transfer problems and didn't take anything special and didn't strengthen their defense, which is the Achilles heel of these teams. While the attack looked decent, Isak is now gone and there is no defense work done at home, so my reasoning is that when evaluating the work of both teams this season, Newcastle may be the more solid team, but as long as the drama with Isak is not extinguished, they will have problems and because of that, the Villa players can even take Peru today. If I had to predict the result, it would be between 2:2, 3:1 in favor of Villa, or a draw. Because Villa has Watkins, who was one of the better players last season and creates such a defense that Newcastle demonstrated, he can easily punish and has had a much better preseason with positive results compared to Newcastle. All in all, today, while the drama with Isak is going on, in my opinion, Villa could win important points at the beginning of the season. But in the long run, I think Newcastle will sort themselves out and if they accidentally sell Isak, they can strengthen themselves over time and also compete for a spot in the top five of the EPL. However, today, I am going with the Villa players and hoping for an interesting start to the season for these teams.
