Amstetten ITF, a clay court tournament featuring two young progressing players, Tagger playing at home. These players have already beaten Ghana's capable players at this level this season. Tagger Lilli especially had a good start to the clay season, winning ITF Spain and defeating In-Albot, Bolsova, and even Boisson in the final. However, her game has since declined. She has played very few tournaments this season, only her seventh. This is only her second tournament since early May, and it's unclear why she has withdrawn from her big appearance in Peru. In the previous tournament, she lost in two sets to Monnet, but managed to defeat Chiesa in three sets.
Kostovic, an 18-year-old player, has been on the rise recently, especially since May when she reached the ITF final and had a good performance in three consecutive tournaments. Additionally, as an underdog, she defeated Ghana's capable player Oliynykova O. in the first round here.
