The Pistons only lost to one of the better teams in the league, the Timberwolves, but until then they had confidently won all the games against serious opponents, including the defending champions, the Heat. The Spurs are doing well as a team, although they have 3 losses, they have performed very well against opponents, but when faced with a strong rival, they lost by 25 points.
