Lithuania received a golden opportunity to qualify for the World Championship and will do everything in their power to win against favorites Turkey. In terms of skill, Turkey is undoubtedly superior, but skill alone cannot be the only measure in sports. Lithuania will not give an inch to their opponents and will fight with greater motivation, which could bring dividends in the battle with Turkey.
Speaking of talent, Lithuania even has an advantage in the front line when bringing the ball in, as Šventoraitė successfully finishes attacks and scores easy points under the basket. We also have great rebounders, like Juškaitė, who does everything - scoring, rebounding, and defense.
We also have a golden talent in Jocytė, who can play brilliantly and lead the team forward.
Overall, we have an advantage over Turkey. Just remember how many problems Czech Republic had against us, and they only managed to beat us in the last minutes of the game. This proves that Lithuania can play on par with teams of higher skill.
We will also have support from the stands, so we can expect an even match where Lithuania should take advantage of their strengths and compensate for their lack of talent and experience with greater desire to win, which is often the deciding factor in sports.
Throughout the tournament, we struggled with three-point shots, but still had a chance to win against our opponents. However, in this match, this should finally work in our favor and be an unused reserve in Lithuania's game.
In my opinion, the plus handicap is too high and I don't see Lithuania losing by more than 5 points in this match.
