In this season, Nikola takes on even more initiative as a points collector because Denver doesn't really have a go-to scorer since losing KCP in the summer. Jokic is averaging 31.2 points and has gone over 40 points in 3 consecutive games, including 2 where he scored 40+. Denver is struggling, and the league MVP is carrying the team while their main opponent, Minnesota, is waiting for them as they were the ones to eliminate Denver from the playoffs last year.
