Saras, upon arriving at Fenerbahce, revitalized the team and after his arrival, the Turks showed great results both in local competitions and in the Euroleague. They defeated Monaco in the series and made it to the Final Four. In the quarter-finals, Panathinaikos did not seem confident, even against Maccabi without Baldwin, and only managed to make it to the Final Four due to the home court advantage.
