Neuchatel Xamax - Basel

Swiss league. I'd even offer a win, but i'll stick with a safer +0.5 bet. newcomers Xamax meet a team that finished 2nd last season, however for this game I can see the underdogs winning for a few reasons. Basel are just not the same currently. They are not the defending champions no more, their form in pre-season and the new season has been shocking including losing to Aarau 1-4, Feyenoord 0-5 and then starting the league season with a loss to st gallen at home and not to forget they also lost to PAOK in midweek in europe so the momentum is clearly not with them. Xaman have shown good pre-season football, they have carried over from their dominant campaign in the 2nd league last year to this year they opened the season with an impressive away win 0-2 at Luzern. I think Basel will be more focused on what's coming up this upcoming midweek in UCL qualifiers so they could field an even weaker squad and with Xamax having all the momentum and the home crowd behind them I think they could steal a win here. My prediction is a 1-1 draw however
