Ricardas Berankis - Adrian Mannarino

Ricardas Berankis will take on Adrian Mannarino in the second-round of the 2018 Sydney Apia International. The 5th seeded Mannarino booked his place in the second-round with a hard-fought win over Russian qualifier Evgeny Donskoy. The Frenchman was broken twice en route to losing the first-set, but narrowly scored a 5-7 7-5 6-4 win over the world number 71.

Incidentally, Lucky Loser Berankis also edged out first-round opponent Alex Bolt with the same scoreline of 5-7, 7-5, 6-4. While Ricardas Berankis is currently ranked World No.138, he has been ranked as high as World No.50. Although he was edged by Aleksandar Vukic in qualifying, Berankis has been given a second chance and has already played more competitive matches on the hard-courts at Sydney than Mannarino
