Game preview : Montreal masters reached its highest point, final between two generations, older wolf Maestro Roger Federer and youngster Alexander Zverev. It’s first final for young player from Germany and second final for Roger in his career at Montreal masters. Both players never won it, so they will fight for title with all energy left. What players will get for reaching final? 438,635 $ and 600 point‘s. 600 Points is very good deal for both players, Sasha will move to 7 place and will be on step closer to Nadal and Andy. But what about winning the title? 894,585 $ and 1000 points, at this situation for Sasha it wont change a lot, he still will be 7th in ranking, but for Roger it will mean, that he will be No.1 again.

Let‘s talk about players :

Roger Federer (3) - Maestro is still in very good shape this year, coming back to top 4 was big goal and he made it, now becoming No.1 in world is near to. While Andy is not playing, Roger and Rafael Nadal can become No.1, it is like time machine for us, then Roger and Rafa was in the top. Maestro started this tournament with easy win without any struggles, we believe he is in very good shape, but not the best for now, he is waiting for Us Open. Some people says Roger is better than few years, we can agree with it. Player from Switzerland plays very good tennis, he is still enjoyning it and playing like fresh player, but with all experience he is even more dangerous. Don‘t forget after long years waiting he already won two Grand Slam titles this year. Hunting for No.1 he will play even better than usual, it is his dream we can say, to be once more no.1.

Alexander Zverev (8) –player Only 20 years old german already reached unbelievable heights, he is 8 best player in the world, can you imagine it? For sure he will be no.7 after this tournament. This year he plays extremly well 48/14 for now, last all year record was 45/27, so he is already doing better this year. 17/4 hard surface score, he is playing unbelievable this year, he won Washington title, no surprise he managed to reach a final here. Youngster from Germany is tall player, but still very fast, athletic and fun to watch with all that energy he plays and wonderfull shot he makes like tweeners, dropshots. Strongest side of his play is serve and strong shots, also his height helps him. This year he does everything amazing, especially in his late summer season on hard, a very few managed to compete with him and he is not getting tired.

Comparing the players : Youngster is taller than Maestro, maybe his serve even faster, but Roger have a more reliable serve, he can depend on 1st and 2nd serve, even if 2nd serve is slow, but it also dangerous. Game play is completely different, now Roger plays with strategy with head, he ain’t young anymore, so he need to think, while Sasha can run a lot, catch every ball, he uses his power and freshness. There are a lot of differences in gameplay, but one thing for sure they both can hit wonderful shots and they both are very talented.

What to expect today ? Well, they met already few times, they met when Roger was in bad shape and they met when Roger was in perfect shape. 2016 Halle on grass Roger lost in 3 sets to Sasha, but this year in perfect condition Roger won in two set’s very easy. For h2h is 2-2, today someone will take a lead, and it’s hard to say who it will be. But there is an opportunity for German player, Roger didn’t played superb tennis in all tournament, he was solid, he won every match, but he didn’t destroy anyone, so it’s say’s two things 1) Roger isn’t in best shape yet
2) Roger keeps everything for final
If Maestro holds up energy final will end very soon, because Alexander is playing second tournament in a row, with title in his hands, so it can be very hard for him. But if switzerlander is having struggles with his play and can’t win easy, so Sasha really have a chance here.
